Information about WHCC
About Us
The Whitchurch Hill Camera Club has been running for over 25 years, and with a membership of 80+ (and still growing) we believe that we are the biggest and best camera clubs in the Reading area of Berkshire. Our membership draws from many diverse backgrounds and age groups, including a strong female contingent. Whether you're interested in landscape photography, wildlife, still life, portraiture, sports photography or any of the other facets of this fascinating hobby, you will find them well represented at the W.H.C.C.
Membership Prices 2011 - 2012
- Annual Membership: £35.00
- Under 21's and those in full time education (regardless of age): £20.00
- Non-members contribution: £2.50 per visit
We always welcome visitors to our meetings and there will be a Visitors Fee of £2.50 per meeting attended. We will not put anyone under pressure to become a member and visitors and non-members will be able to attend any number of meetings they may choose.
However, entry to our Club Competitions will still be for members only so the Annual Subscription must be paid before the 13th October, this being the date of the First Round of the Ladder Competition.
Weekly meetings
We hold weekly meetings at 8:00pm every Wednesday between September and June at the WHITCHURCH VILLAGE HALL. Our meetings feature photographic presentations, practical sessions, social events and competitions. Please have a look at our programme, and reports on previous meetings.
Field trips
During the summer months, we organise a popular series of field trips out and about in the Reading area.
Practical Photography Group
We also have a practical photography group that also meets once a month, with special emphasis placed upon learning about digital photography and manipulation, using the clubs studio equipment and any other hands-on advice you need.

Club Weekly Bulletin
A weekly reminder is sent by e-mail to all members at the weekend relating to the next meeting in a few days time. In addition, this provides a very useful way of providing feedback on judges’ performance and also sharing information on special events or items of general interest. Make sure the Chairman has your correct e-mail address.
