Ivor's Winter Mixture
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
So it was the middle of February (exactly so being the 14th) and we all flocked to the village hall for a presentation appropriately called ‘Ivor’s Winter Mixture’ – courtesy of Ivor Porter from the Oxford Photographic Society. And no - it wasn’t a dose to be taken three times daily – far better than that – it was a visual tonic to combat winter blues!
He’s stunned us on previous occasions with his superb wildlife images – and this evening was no exception. Ivor began with images of birds (mostly) taken in his garden – where he has positioned various perches and a reflection pool – overlooked by a hide. This time we saw amongst other things a series of beautiful images of starlings – showing their iridescent plumage to perfection!
Then Ivor took us around the world treating us to the many stunning images he’s captured of wildlife on his travels from Europe to the Americas and Asia to Africa.
An absolutely superb and inspirational evening – thank you for sharing your images with us Ivor.
