Digital Competition No 4
posted by Ian Lewis in Club Meetings
So there it was – the last of the ladder competitions for this season – Digital Competition No 4 – and no set subject – plenty of scope then! And some poor soul has to be in the judge of this which will also decide the winner of the entire Digital Ladder competition. So the poor unfortunate happened to be Jeff Lawrence LRPS CPAGB who braved the journey all the way from the far regions of Bracknell to be with us! (no- honestly – we’re lovely and it must be a pleasure to judge our images!!)
Plenty of variety on show here this evening – you name the genre and it was projected in front of us! A hard job for the judge – who rose to the occasion magnificently giving good, detailed comments on each image.
Well, at the end of the judging all of four 20s had been awarded. They were: ‘A Word in Your Ear’ and ‘A Tasty Snack’ – both by Nigel Glover-Wright; ‘Warnscale Beck Buttermere’ (which was also awarded the star) by Ceri Jones and ‘Sheik Zayed Mosque’ by Bill Scott. Well done all!
Then, of course, there were the top placings which were as follows: in joint second place with 38 points were Geoff Storey and Ceri Jones – and in first place was Nigel Glover-Wright with a perfect 40! Brilliant!
And what did this do for the placings on the 2017-18 Digital Ladder? …………..
In third place with a total of 148 points is Stephen Shadbolt
In second place scoring 150 points is Nigel Glover-Wright
And the winner is ………. Ceri Jones with 156 points!
What a good evening this was! Congratulations to all the high scorers and top placings in the evening’s competition ………
And hearty congratulations to Ceri, Nigel and Stephen for top placings in the Ladder!
Oh yes – many thanks to Jeff for his superb judging at this critical point in the year’s digital competitions. See you again!
